In the newest issue of german gaming magazine PC Games there is a new preview of Elex. It's writer visited Piranha Bytes and was allowed to play the game for 5 hours without any limits, with both controller and mouse and keyboard. He started in the Berserker's capital, Goliet, and later used save games prepared by Piranha Bytes to also try out the other factions. We want to give you a short summary of the article:

The journalist praises the game's open world, since it's nicely designed and can be explored right from the beginning of the game, which leads to the desire to explain everything immediately. There are some boundaries though, like especially strong monsters or zones poisoned by radiation, which limit the exploring a bit until the player has become stronger. In order to do so, there are five attributes which can be increased by the player, and plenty of skills which must be learned from teachers for money. These skills can, like the coldness value, also unlock new dialogue options.

So far the identity of the music composer and sound designer of Elex remained a big mystery. This is why we became keen-eared when Björn Pankratz from Piranha Bytes said in the RPC livestream that one of his roles is working on the music and sound of the game.

Since the statement wasn't clear enough about what role Björn exactly has, we have asked Piranha Bytes personally. And in fact: Björn himself is composer and sound designer of Elex! Some community members have asked Piranha Bytes on the RPC as well and got the same answer. We are very excited about the soundtrack of the game!

Today starting at 6:45 pm one of the Elex presentations at RPC was live streamed at LetsPlay4Charity's Youtube channel. Because the livestream only goes back for 2 hours, a recording of the presentation isn't available anymore. Thats why we have recorded the livestream for you and uploaded it to our Youtube channel. On the overview page about Elex at the german PC Games website, 30 new screenshots can be found. These screenshots are directly from the game, including interface, and were likely made while the PC Games visited Piranha Bytes, because these images also are in the preview in the PC Games 06/2017 magazine.

Because these screenshots aren't official images by THQ Nordic/Piranha Bytes, but are exclusive to PC Games, we won't upload them to World of Elex, but only embed them here. So you can find the images at the PC Games website or by clicking on "Read more"!

In a preview in the german PC Games 06/2017 magazine, the release date for Elex has been mentioned. Until now it was only known that Piranha Bytes newest RPG will be released in the 3rd quarter this year, but according to the preview, it will be released in August. The exact date isn't yet known however, but a release close to Gamescom (22nd - 26th August) seems reasonable. The August release will be almost exactly 3 years after Piranha Bytes' last game, Risen 3: Titan Lords.

Update 31st May: In a news the PC Games has again confirmed August as the month of release.

Update 1st June: That was an error, the release is on 17th October 2017 instead!

On the official Elex website four new artworks have been added recently, which are showing one of the four factions each. The image of the Berserkers also has been used as a thumbnail for the trailer about that faction a couple of weeks ago. You can find all artworks in our gallery or by clicking on "Read more"!

In time for the upcoming RPC, new screenshots were released on the official Elex website, which show the varied landscapes of the RPG. All images can be found in our gallery or by clicking on "Read more"!

THQ Nordic has released a new gameplay video of Elex which shows the region Ignadon for the first time. Scenes from the other areas of the game can be seen as well. Thanks to community member "Undertaker" for the hint!

As community member "Paterick" has pointed out, the Collector's Edition for Elex is now listed on the german Amazon for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The Collector's Edition contains the official soundtrack, an artbook, a worldmap, statue of an Alb mage and an amulet, in addition to the game and the manual.

Update 31st May: The Collector's Edition is now also available in other countries like the UK and the US!

THQ Nordic announced that they will be present at the RPC 2017, which takes place on 27th and 28th May in Cologne, with several games including Elex, which can be played there.

Piranha Bytes new RPG will also get five stage presentations over the two days. One of them is scheduled to be streamed live on LetsPlay4Charity's Youtube channel, according to THQ Nordic. World of Elex will be at RPC as well to film at least one presentation and bring you every new piece of information as quickly as possible.

For the first time the Piranha Bytes community will have an own booth at the RPC this year. Right next to THQ Nordic, "Torsten Heine Game Collection", "Reiche am Myrtanischen Meer", the "Piranha Fanart Portal" and "World of Gothic" get together and offer an exposition about Piranha Bytes' games, cosplay and a photo shoot, fanart, an autograph session with Piranha Bytes and more.
