Here it is, our own interview with Piranha Bytes from Gamescom 2017. Harry and Amadeus, two of Elex' developers, are answering to questions from the German community.

German livestream-channel RocketBeansTV has made an interview with Piranha Bytes' developers Björn and Harry. Although the focus is on general questions about the game, there is some new gameplay in the video, too.

While the language of the interview is German, English subtitles are available in the form of automatic translation via Youtube-preferences.

In the recent issue 09-10/2017 of the german 'Making Gams' magazine, which is focused towards game developers, there is a very interesting, 28-pages long Making of Elex special. In 6 articles, which are written by different Piranha Bytes developers, several aspects of the development are dicussed in detail: The whole project, leveldesign, engine, cutscenes, music and console ports.

The extensive special in the 'Making Games' magazine also contains a lot of new imagery, screenshots and artworks as well as pictures from behind the scenes and of Piranha Bytes' development tools. The german website Gameswirtschaft reports that the EU will support four german game productions this year with 500,000€ in total via the "Creative Europe Media" programme. One of the projects that gets supported with 150,000€ is ELEX 2. The company "AWins 2011 GmbH" which is named as the studio has the same address and the same managing director as the Pluto13 GmbH/Piranha Bytes. Thus, it's safe to assume Piranha Bytes will developed a successor to ELEX next.

After the first three videos, Youtube channel "Warmly Calculated" now has released another video about Elex, in which the combat is analyzed and compared to Risen.

German Let's Player 'Writing Bull' has released a 6-part video preview of Elex on Youtube. While Writing Bull is normally specialized on strategy games, he made an exeption for Elex. Similar to Gronkh a couple a months ago, he plays the game from the beginning. He's accompanied by Jenny from Piranha Bytes while playing the game.

All 6 parts have a runtime of roughly 25 minutes, making for over 2 hours of gameplay. In the course of the Let's Play you can see the tutorial, the Berserker town Goliet and parts of the desert region Tavar, as well as a short flashback. Please click on "Read more" to watch all the videos!

In a press release THQ Nordic have revealed their lineup for Gamescom, which takes place a month from now. Accordingly, they will present eight of their games at the convention, two of which are completely unannounced games as of yet. The first of the eight games of course is ELEX. Journalists and gamers will have the opportunity to play a nearly finished version of Piranha Bytes' new RPG.

The other games that are already known are Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Spellforce 3, Aquanox: Deep Descent, The Guild 3 and Wreckfest. The first unannounced game is a brand new IP, an Open World RPG in a "unique universe" and will be a "post-apocalyptic kung fu tale". The second game is a new entry in a "known and mysterious" series. Update 16 August: It now was revealed that the latter one is a new 'Black Mirror' game.

A new video about one of the factions, the Outlaws, has been released on Youtube.

The desert of Tavar - hot, dusty and lethal. After the territorial wars ended, this godforsaken pit was the last thing anyone wanted to call home. But due to the lack of choice, the destitute survivors and outcasts took shelter and slowly regrouped, becoming a unique and dangerous faction: The Outlaws.
