In collaboration with community member Morgannin we present you the first analysis video about Elex in a long time. This time around the video previews from german Let's Player Gronkh, which were released a couple of weeks ago, are topic of the video. In it, Morgannin summarizes the new findings about the game's story, gameplay and graphics and analyzes them.

With a little delay we are bringing you a roundup of the PAX East 2017 which took place from 10th to 12th March in Boston. Gamers and journalists alike had the chance to play Elex there, which means many new videos with new impressions and information have been released. Thus we have compiled some of them in this news. Added to this are some video from the PC Gamer Weekender event.

The website Cultured Vultures has release a short preview about Elex. In it, the editor describes the setting of the game and compares it to Bioshock. She concludes her impression as follows:

Put simply, ELEX is an auspicious sci-fi RPG from an experienced studio set in a stunning – and seamless – open world full of characters, creatures, and quests.

Furthermore the preview is mentioning that Elex won't get any paid DLC, but only a free expansion or a proper sequel, if any. Since the preview has been shared by Piranha Bytes and the official Elex page on Facebook, it's safe to assume the information is correct.

Good news for those who aren’t a fan of shelling out lots of money for additional content: ELEX will not have any paid DLC. Any additional content will arrive in the form of a free add-on, or even a sequel, although there are no plans for one on the horizon just yet.

Again a new screenshot and new information about Elex have been released by Piranha Bytes on Facebook:

The meteor did not destroy all of Magalans former buildings. Some have withstood the impact and have become shelters for deadly creatures.

Today Piranha Bytes released a short gameplay trailer about the Berserkers on Youtube.

In the fourth episode of Gronkh's Elex preview, the world map is visible almost completely for the first time. Because the part of the map that is visible in the video changes, we stitched together many screenshots from the video into an image, which thus contains the whole part of the map visible in the video.

After the first three parts of his elex preview, Gronkh now has released the fourth and last video. As before Björn Pankratz from Piranha Bytes is giving him company. And like the first ones, the new video also is around 40 minutes long. This time the two discover a world heart, among other things.

Today Gronkh has released the third part of his Elex preview series, and of course Björn from Piranha Bytes is with him again. The runtime is sround 40 minutes just like in the first two parts and the video begins where the last one ended.

We celebrate our one-year anniversary!

In the 12 months since the start of the website and the new forum design a lot has happened. We wrote almost 200 news, several articles and we have filled our galleries with over 100 screenshots and artworks from the game. We were on the RPC and the Gamescom and met the Piranhas. For more than 3 months, we also have own channels on Facebook and Youtube, which constantly increase their reach and record more and more visitors. It was a stressful but also a fun time.

And the next 12 months promise no less excitement. We are approaching the release of Elex with big steps, but before this, the RPC and the Gamescom will be there, depending on the time when Elex will finally see the light of the world.

As forum user "Blue Force" notes in the german Elex discussion, the author of a graphic novel called "Rustwalker" claims on Twitter that Piranha Bytes has stolen ideas from his graphic novel on a large scale:

It is very clear that @Elex_Game completely stole my idea, right down to the factions, the mutations, the post-apoc land, etc. I had posted all of those story details on my website in 2013. Two years later and @Elex_Game began developing my story, with slight tweaks.
