After THQ Nordic was not present at Gamescom, the publisher has announced a digital showcase for its 10th anniversary. It will be moderated by Geoff Keighley and can be watched today, September 17th, from 9 p.m. CET on Youtube (see below), Twitch and Steam. As announced on the official Elex Discord, six new games are to be announced and new information and images on ELEX II will be shown there:

In addition, there is a discount campaign on Steam, in which games from THQ Nordic are reduced by up to 90%. Elex is available for € 9.99 (-80%), but Gothic and Risen are also cheaper. In addition, two games will be given away: Titan Quest Anniversary Edition and Jagged Alliance 1: Gold Edition are free until September 23rd.

Yesterday, several publications released previews and video material of Elex 2. The mostly german previews talked about the improvements the second game brings compared to the first one: As part of the new moral system, Jax' destruction value will increase when killing small animals for example. New to the game are children, who will be questgivers and will be unkillable. Regions that are lifted from the first game will be changed radically, for example Tavar will be green in Elex 2. There will be up to six factions which you can join. The combat system has been improved, and attributes will now directly influence Jax' damage instead of just being a requirement for weapons like in the first game. Late in the game it will be possible to fly for as long as you want by upgrading the new Jetpack.

In addition to these reviews, Wccftech released an interview with Piranha Bytes, where the developers talk more about the improvements and changes they make in Elex 2. They also reveal one ending of Elex 1 becomes canon in the second game, because 90% of players have chosen this ending. On Youtube, the site also posted a short gameplay video of Elex 2:

In line with the announcement of Elex 2, the first game is available on Steam for $9.99/9,99€/£7.99 for the first time as part of the Summer Sale. If you haven't played Elex before and want to do so before the release of the second part, you now have the opportunity to do so. The games in the Gothic and Risen series are also reduced by 75% or 80%. The Steam Summer Sale runs until July 8th.

Elex 2 is not only listed on Steam but, like other THQ Nordic games, is now listed on Gog as well and should be "available soon" there. So the game will be available DRM-free, if desired. The system requirements are the same as those listed on Steam, such as Windows 10 and a graphics card with DirectX 11 or 12. Initially, Windows 7 and 8 were also listed, but this has since been changed.

Elex 2 is now also listed on Steam and although it cannot be pre-ordered there, it can already be added to the wish list. The description says, among other things:

A surprising first preview of Elex 2 comes from the german magazine Gamestar with a trailer, screenshots and some information about the latest PB game. The Gamestar got to watch an early version of the game and spent an hour and a half talking to the piranhas. Most of the preview, however, is exclusive to Gamestar Plus subscribers.

Accordingly, Elex 2 takes place a few years after the first part and the player takes control of Jax yet again, who wants to warn people of a new threat. Similar to Gothic 2, the game is supposed to be an improvement of the first part. There are areas from the first game and completely new ones, the same applies to the factions. In addition, flying is now possible and there is a new moral system. Elex 2 is scheduled to release in 2022.

If you want to convince yourself of the authenticity of the logo, you can do so on the Elex Discord. The change in the logo could indicate an upcoming announcement of Elex 2. This is also supported by the latest video from Piranha Becken TV, in which Björn and Jenny promise something exciting for next week:
