As THQ Nordic announce in a press release, the console patch that was due since december is finally being released now. The patch includes the same improvements as the 3 months old patch for PC and also enhances the resolution on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Originally, the huge patch that was released before christmas for PC should also have been released for PS4 and Xbox One for quite some time already, including graphical improvements for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. That's how Publisher THQ Nordic announced it, anyway. But so far console players have come away empty-handed, there's no trace of a patch.

Now Michael Rüve from Piranha Bytes commented on this issue in our forums. According to him, Piranha Bytes have encountered console-specific issues in addition to the already long certification process by Sony and Microsoft, and don't know a date for the patch themselves. We'll keep you up to date if further details or an exact release date are communicated. Until then, waiting is the only thing we can do.

Yesterday a small patch with version numbers 1.0.2955 (Gog) or 1.0.2956 (Steam) respectively, was released. However, because of a lack of patch notes we're unable to tell which changes the patch includes. According to reports from the community though, the SMAA T2x anti-aliasing option works now, while other users report about crashes they didn't have before. If there'll be any news about the patch, we will update this news.

Just before christmas, Piranha Bytes has released another patch for Elex, which is roughly 2.5GB in size. The patch with version number 1.0.2946.0 (Steam) fixes plenty of bugs and implements new difficulty settings.

Update: The patch now has been released on Gog.com as well, and according to german gaming website 4players on consoles, too. There, it also enhances the resolution or the graphical fidelity, depending on the display used. We have updated the changelog accordingly.

Our dear partner site Piranha Bytes Italia has released the english translation of their Elex review a couple of days ago. They thoroughly tested the game and found many strengths, but also weaknesses in it.

You just need to be patient and eager to explore a peculiar game system, pretty different from other recent games, without expecting to fully grasp it without effort. Maybe this is the main problem of Elex: it was created for an endangered species of gamers, who are supposed to accept its flaws and value its undeniable qualities and “freshness”, even though it is a typical Piranha Bytes‘ product.

After the day one patch with version numbers 1.0.2828.0 (GOG) and 1.0.2829.0 (Steam) respectively, Piranha Bytes has released the first further patch for Elex. The Patch with version number 1.0.2846.0 (Steam) should be downloaded by the Steam client automatically. Players who have bought the game on GOG or consoles apparently have to wait a little longer though.

The 712MB big patch fixes many of the reported bugs, like graphics bugs on AMD Radeon cards, some quest bugs and AI problems. You can find the full patch notes on Steam or in this news by clicking on "Read more"!
